I like biking around Brooklyn. And lately I fell in love with Fort Greene. Some of my favorite things to do and see there ➡️
1. SPIKE LEE e 40 ACRES AND A MULE:
🎥 I’m a fan of Spike Lee’s movies. 40 Acres and a Mule, his production company, is based on 75 Elliott Place. Remember to stop and take a picture there!

2. FORT GREENE PARK
🌳 I loved everything except the stairs. Keep in mind that Fort Greene was originally known as ‘The Hill’ and now I know why 🙂 but the view over Manhattan from there is stunning. On a sunny day, you can clearly see the One World Trade Center.

3. MOCADA, BRIC, BAM e URBAN GLASS
🥁 🎨 the Museum of Contemporary African Diasporan Arts is the first one of its kind to open up in NY; the BRIC HOUSE includes galleries for emerging artists and it’s behind one of NYC’s longest running and free performing art festival; the Brooklyn Academy of Music is considered as one of America’s oldest performing arts center. Finally, the Urban Glass is an art center that offers studios, classes, workshops, exhibitions. You can also visit the retail shop with work created at the studio available for purchase.

4. GREENLIGHT BOOKSHOP
📚 Greenlight an independent bookstore in the neighbourhood.
5. PRATT INSTITUTE SCULPTURE GARDEN
🌱 This park is accessible to the public (not now, because of Covid). The best walk is down to DeKalb Avenue between the Pratt Institute Sculpture Park and Fort Greene Park.

6. BROOKLYN NAVY YARD
🛳 Building 92 offers exhibitions, archives, and public programs that bring together the Navy Yard history with the businesses that now call it home. Now it’s closed for Covid.

🥕 🍅 🥬 Adjacent to Pier 92 a rooftop farming with amazing views over Manhattan, yoga classes and a farmer market during weekends.

8. BIKE ON WILLOUGHBY, PORTLAND AND CARLTON AVENUE.
🚲 some of the open streets close to the park (check the list on google maps).

9. SHOPPING ON MYRTLE AVE.
🛍 check out Jill Lindsey e 21 Tara.
