Harlem is a symbol more than a place.
Harlem was home to the Harlem Renaissance and to singers, writers and famous American artists such as Langston Hughes, Billie Holiday, Jacob Lawrence, Faith Ringgold and Duke Ellington, just to name a few.
Let’s walk the street of Harlem together. We’ll talk about the history of this neighborhood, visit a community garden that became so important to inspire a book, touch Harriet Tubman’s skirt and talk about the extraordinary courage of this woman. Visit a store located inside one of the most important centers for research in Black Culture, admire graffiti, murales and so much more!
